About Lincoln Fire Dept.

Lincoln Fire Department was established in 1905, and has faithfully served the Town of Lincoln for more than 100 years. In 1946 Lincoln hired 3 full time firefighters and they staffed the station 24/7/365 working a 48 on 24 off schedule. At its height, Lincoln had 8 engineers but was reduced to 7 after the hiring of a full time chief. In 1986 the career firefighters organized as an IAFF Local, and were given the Local number 3038. Lincoln Professional Firefighter's Association is one of the most active unions in the State of Maine, and is known to have several of its members show up to political events in Augusta and in other cities in support of their brothers. We take great pride in our profession, which is described by some as the greatest job in the world.

The career firefighters are complimented by a company of call firefighters that do not work shifts at the station, but respond directly to emergencies when they arise. This group of dedicated citizens put their lives and fortunes on the line to serve their community, and are considered part of the family here at the firehouse.

Lincoln Fire is the primary agency responsible for Fire and Rescue in the Town of Lincoln and Town of Chester, combined populations exceed 6000 and an area near 100 square miles. LFD also provides mutual aid and fire service contracting to several other small towns in the area.

Penobscot Regional Communications Center is the PSAP and Dispatch center for Lincoln Police, Fire and EMS. If you have an emergency, please dial 911!
